The sun is shining today and it is beautiful! I spent most of the day at work focus group-ing, but the sun is still a-shinin'! I got the car washed and the ice that has been covering our street is melting. The amaryllis is still going like crazygonuts, too.
The dogs are enjoying the sun and being able to take their time outside. Inside, they're taking full advantage of the sunny spots.
More pics at my Flickr, as usual.
There are new blooms coming in in the middle of this cluster:

It's still cold as all get-out, though this weekend we're supposed to get up above freezing. In the meantime, our driveway and street are filled with ice.
The amaryllis, however, is going strong. The original bud has four blooms and the second has three.
The sun is shining like crazy! Doesn't it look pretty coming through this decaying petal?

So the sun has actually been shining the past few days and the amaryllis is soaking it right up. The original bud now has three full blooms and the second bud is starting to open. It did get a bit warmer today, which was nice for the first day of February. There is hope that winter will eventually end!

The amaryllis is going apeshit! Before I left for Denver, it looked like this:
When I returned five days later, it looked like this:

And then this morning, this:
And then tonight when I got home from work, WOW!
Beautiful!

Mom and Dad sent us an xmas plant this year, aka an Amaryllis. It's growing by leaps and bounds! I didn't take any photos at first, but when we got it there was just a teensy bit of green poking out.
It's getting huge! I can't wait to see what it looks like when it blooms.
