vintage knitwear for modern knitters Vintage Knitwear for Modern Knitters by Lise-Lotte Lystrup includes 21 patterns for sweaters, jackets, scarves, and more. Lystrup has translated these patterns so they're easy to read like most contemporary knitting patterns. She's also adjusted them so that the sizes and yarn guages match what contemporary knitters are accustomed to - most vintage patterns are sized completely differently, and the yarns they were written for often don't exist or match easily to currently available fibers. The original patterns were published from the 1930s through the 1950s and are still very wearable. Lystrup has carefully selected classic patterns that retain their stylish appeal. The garments don't feel like throwbacks, but like timeless pieces. I'll definitely consider making several items from this book, including the Cardigan with Contrasting Collar, Small Jacket, and Angora Leaf Scarf.
