Here's a brief interview with Christophe Szpajdel, a talented artist who specializes in logos for black metal bands. Some of my favorites are those with what feels to me like the influence of nature (apt, as his day job is as a forestry engineer).

How freaking magical is this?! I am enamored with everything about this piece: the lush green grass, the perfectly wound conical trees, the flowing bulky blue yarn of the river, the comforting floral carpet, the striking contrast of the red blanket on the sofa. I want to be this knitter.

How awesome are these shoes hand painted by Star+Bluebird? I love them - wish they weren't one of a kind (they'd be perfect for sale on Etsy!). I'd wear them daily if I could.

After I posted about the possibility of adding some solar-powered gargoyles to the yard, Susan chimed in with a suggestion for some other neat yard art. Sugar Post Pottery and Metal Art offers a variety of unusual and slightly twisted sculpture.



This is the Flamingoaway, part of a larger Gnome Be Gone series.

There are also animals, bugs, and a variety of other items. They're a bit pricey for my budget, but they are pretty cool!
